3D fun
Not your parents' red and blue 3D glasses... |

Despite the fact that it was a lovely spring day (breezy, sunny and not too hot), we decided to head into Amman for a movie. It was my first 3D movie (wow!) and a really fun movie, too. Seeing my first 3D movie after my kid had already seen several was starting to make me feel a bit like a Stone Age mom. But "Mr. Peabody and Sherman" is a really kid-fun (and adult-funny) movie. Added bonus: yesterday was Mother's Day in Jordan so my movie ticket came with free popcorn and soda...
PS: Several weeks ago we saw "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2." It's a lot of fun, also.

Down the Nile
Madaba, Jordan
Thursday, March 13, 2014
It's almost the end of our Spring Break, but it's been a Madaba-based vacation since A is on a different school schedule from our school. While unexpected rains pour down outside, we've been making a little Egypt, inspired by our recent reading of the Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan. Not as good as Percy Jackson we all agree, but still a fun read.
A's boat and crocodile and Frank's Sphinx are my favorites. As events continue to unfold in Egypt, this might be closest we get to the Nile for now...

Primary color mash-up
Madaba, Jordan
Monday, March 10, 2014
It's Spring Break at last, and I finally have time to just BE. After pawing through the remains of my quilting stash, I decided on a primary color theme for a colleague's baby. It's a pretty crazy combination, but after five years on the road, my scraps form a very random collection. Anyhow, let's hope it's a happy-baby combo...
