Sushi redux

Seattle, Washington
Saturday, April 25, 2015

Tonight we had yet another Saturday night sushi evening--but this one was held without the assistance and encouragement of our Japanese exchange student. The results? Tasty, but not nearly as pretty. I'll keep working to perfect the presentation...

Pinball party!

Seattle, Washington
Saturday, April 25, 2015

We attended a nice birthday party at the Full Tilt ice cream parlor in Columbia City: great ice cream and A's first introduction to pinball. One round and she (and I) were hooked. She took one button and I took the other, and we played and played until our quarters were gone. Thank you V and family!

Rabbit treats

Seattle, Washington
Friday, April 24, 2015

There's nothing like having rabbits to change ones perspective on dandelions. I used to lunge at the dandelions with my digger in hand--now I see them as rabbit treats. That is, I still try to pull them up by the roots, but FIRST I pick the tasty delicacies and bring them inside to the rabbits...

We just finished Book 4 of the Penderwick series. It's wonderful. But make sure you read the other three first!

Birthday cake!

Seattle, Washington
Saturday, April 18, 2015

Frank really doesn't care a whit for cakes, birthday or otherwise, but some traditions must be upheld for the sake of the family. Could only find three candles, but the singing was just as hearty. Happy Birthday, Frank!

Lopez Island, Washington
Sunday, April 12, 2015

In addition to cake decorating, there was also much time spent developing and test-driving a new board game. Conclusion? The game seemed rather heavily weighted toward "going to the office"...

Gum drop menagerie

Gum drop menagerie...
Lopez Island, Washington
Sunday, April 12, 2015

Up at Lopez for the weekend with friends. Glorious weather outside but also time for some indoor food art projects--specifically preparing gum drop animals to decorate a birthday cake. A very good time was had by all. Thanks, M!

Back to the future

Seattle, Washington
Wednesday, April 8, 2015

Stopped by a job fair today in Gould Hall--I was not looking for myself, but just curious to see what was there. (I am NOT an architect!) This display caught my attention for sure, having just reacquainted myself with the View Master of my father's childhood. Funny, at least to me, how the old stuff still has the power to attract...

Over at Grandma's getting ready for Easter--just PAAS and us...
